About
ANITA COCHRAN
A self-proclaimed “News Goddess,” Anita Cochran became a household name as a News Anchor in her home state of Kansas. A graduate of Wichita State University, held every job in the newsroom, starting in Hays, stopping in Garden City and ending in her hometown Wichita. From video-tape editor, to producer to Main Anchor , Anita was the first anchor in the Wichita Market to host the 5, 6 and 10 pm news SOLO. After celebrating 20 years on-air in Kansas Anita walked away from the industry she loved in 2009.
Among her awards over the years, are an Emmy for a 30-minute show about Aids that she produced and co-hosted. The KAB has recognized her work from Best Newscast to Best Feature. The Kansas Health Foundation statewide campaign focusing on children, “Simple Acts,” which Anita produced was nominated for a National Emmy for Community Service.

Today the Mother of two daughters, and wife of 25 years, Anita has gone through a downsizing of her material life, to upsize her spiritual one. Since leaving TV News, she’s taught Broadcasting at Wichita State University, learned the retail business selling diamonds at Wichita’s First Place, and recently changed her “News Goddess” title to “Denim Diva” representing Vault Denim as a Regional Coordinator.
Whether she’s blinging up butts selling Designer jeans, or hosting a corporate video, Anita has settled into a Freelance life full of Meaning. So much so she’s writing a book about the mid-life experience.
